Also, if he is going to get cancer he will still get it, just along the circ. scar. Penis cancer is very rare, the real numbers are more like 1 in 1,000,000. Male breast cancer is much more common. 1% of all breast cancer cases happen in males. Are you going to prophylactily remove that tissue as well?

#1. On the list is most ridiculous. They make it sound the surgeon is handling dirty bacterial covered instruments and causing some sort of foreskin infection. Either 1. The doctor as at fault for "mishandling" or 2. This is just completely made up. Notice the enthusiastic use of the word "knob." This is just the circumfetishist getting his kicks.

Re: the STD/HPV/AIDS thing.... using a condom is a much more "foolproof" way of preventing transmission of these diseases.

Yes! Let's not pretend circ prevents STD transmission. If this were the case then the USA would not have the highest rate of STD transmission of any developed country. 1 in 3 Americans have and STD. What is worse is that studies report that circed men are LESS likely to use condoms due to the reduced sensitivity. This makes them more at risk to STD, not less.

If your husband likes to share material for you both to read, perhaps this would be enlightening to him. It is by doctors...

One thing to keep in mind is that it all of the advantages and disadvantages must be weighed together. It is not enough to find one value of circumcision. He must trade that advantagse against the negative consequences of pain, suffering, failing to protect your son's human rights, and the loss of sexual function and feeling for both himself and his partners.

I think everything's been covered in the PPs, but I just have to add a cross-cultural perspective to the notion that uncircumcised penises are unhygienic and "smelly" - most men in the UK are not circumcised and we are not a nation of men with smelly infected penises!!
