nak.

is there a reason behind being concerned with prefolds staining? or is it just a preference thing? most of ours are stained but don't stink. however the baby is only 6 weeks so do i need to worry about issues in the future?

Nope. No worries. Some people just like pretty diapers

Ok, good to know. I am still new to this cd stuff and I worried that my lack of concern might have problems later. I guess I figure it is something he is going to poop in, I don't care what it looks like. Then again, these will only be used for him as he is my last baby.

The only reason I care is because I sell my dipes when ds outgrows them so I can buy more. But there's never been a stain a day hanging out in the sun couldn't take care of!

No worries. Some mamas just don't like stains, and they do affect the resell value.

BUT, stains often will come out later given proper treatment. Stripping and/or sunning can be very helpful. Of course, avoiding them altogether can make it easier in the long run if you want to maintain resale value. But it's not the end of the world, by any means.

Well, my boys must have atomic poop, because my prefolds have poop stains that nothing cures!

They don't stink either!

another kid with atomic poop here too. I have a flat that I cannot fix, no matter how often I sun it(and we exclusively line dry, so. . . . . . . . .). I think it was a blueberry one. Stains happen. Some bleach out in the sun, some don't. It's not the end of the world.

I also never saw the point in worrying about stains in diapers or cloth pads. I mean, this is cloth specifically designed to hold pee and poop, or menstrual fluid. Who cares if it stains?

Now, I do care about stains on handkerchiefs. I'll soak them in salt water after using them for a bloody nose, and hankies tend to be seen by others, not just worn as underwear.
