My sister-in-law and brother are expecting their first baby. A special quilt is being made for them and everyone is designing one square that will be put together to make the quilt. I only have about a week to do mine and I am just stumped. At first I thought I'd just use some fabric pens and write something or do a handprint of our daughter with some nice words around it.

But I kind of want to be a bit more creative. I was thinking of trying a batik design with wax and then dying the square. Or maybe stitching a little wool felt scene. Or....??

Has anyone else done this sort of project before? Any ideas?
