Some Cloth Eeze/Newborn Diapering Questions

I plan to order some Cloth Eeze prefolds soon. (The new organic ones, hooray!). My questions:

I see that they recommend using the newborn/orange edge ones because they fit aplix/snap diaper covers well (that's why, right?). I plan to use exclusively wool pull-on type covers. So, can I get away with ordering just the infant/yellow edge for now (and fold them the opposite way in thirds so they are shorter to fasten with a snappi)?

How many prefolds would you recommend getting if I got newborn size or infant size or both? What combination would you recommend? My preference would be to wash 2x a week, or when a kitchen size trash can is full of dirty diapers.

And...what about meconium poo on cloth diapers? My son's first few diapers were gDiapers with the flushable insert (we switched to cloth inserts after a few days). So, I haven't seen meconium on a cloth diaper. Is it a big deal or no? What do you do about it?

Thanks

The size diaper you will need has more to do with baby's size than anything. If you have a 7 lb baby for example, you should probably get the orange edge, if you generally have big babies- you could skip to the yellow edge ones. I'm sure my 9lb son would have been fine in the yellow, but his smaller sister would have been swallowed and needed orange. Those diapers are square so there is no way to fold them "the other way" to make them shorter.

I personally think that 3 dozen is a good number of newborn diapers to have, and wash about every other day, you may want to have more if your goal is to wash less often.

My son used cloth from day one, we didn't have any problems with the meconium washing out.

Thank you so much! My first was a 7 lb baby. And I didn't realize that cloth eeze was square, that is really helpful info. I think I'll try 3 dozen orange edge and go from there. Thanks so much!
