Ok..so I have no where to put this..not here on MDC..not in life, not with friends etc.
I was in a wonderful AP PEPS group when my middle fella was a babe until he was about 2.(almost 6 yrs ago) Great women, stayed in touch with a few and my son now attends school with a couple of them
One of the mamas had a little boy who had multiple symptoms that didn't add up, not eating any solids at 2yrs combined with yelling in pain when he laid down and many more.. etc. I got her in touch with the clinic and supports I used to work with at a local hopsital, including an old friend who was the one to add all his symptoms up and refered her son for an MRI. They found a tumor the size of a baseball in this sweet little 2yr old boys brain. Our group rallied around her for meals and support while they went through the grueling surgery & treatment. Is wasn't cancerous thankfully and he made a lovely recovery. He still had a few lingering symptoms and some created by the surgery. She was such a fighter for him..made sure he had a twin bed so they could still co-sleep in hospital, nursed him constantly
Tracked down any and all treatments for him. And threw a heck of a party after he was declared tumor free.
I always admired her.She was spunky and opinionated.
We had lost touch over the last couple of years , saw each other every now and then around town..etc. Lives just got busy. I regret not making a better effort to remain friends.
She drowned two days ago saving her son who had fallen in a river.
I'm just sad. Her marriage was ending the last time we talked, she was still her sweet boy's fierce advocate and they were like peanut butter and jelly..always together and just a perfect pair.
Her son must be missing her so very much....
Godspeed A.L.B.
(she was an organ donor as well)
thanks for letting me get this out.
