breastfeeding cafe shut down due to swine flu

Some of you may have read my story about my experience helping out with our local breastfeeding cafe, and the whole thing with my 2 and a half year old being complained about etc.

well, just as an update....due to "swine flu" all services offered by the health visitors such as the baby cafe, the "older" baby cafe, health checks, well baby clinics, etc, have all been cancelled until further notice due to all of the health visitors being needed to man phones and administer tamiflu and vaccines when they are available.

So now there is no baby cafe for new moms....The mind boggles.
So greatfull for the real mother to mother support that happens outside government programs.

it's because Britian has launched this massive response campaign to Swine Flu where people can ring up a number or go online and get a Tamiflu script. So they need as many health workers as possible to be running that.

So something about prevention being better than a cure seems to come to mind.
