DH and I (mostly him) set up the pool last night and tried out the python faucet pump. I was kind of nervous that I hadn't gotten the right parts, but everything went great. The fishy pool is sitting in our dining room still fully inflated - so evidently we don't have any leaks. We'll have to deflate it until labor begins because our place is too small to leave it up until the birth, but now that he's done it and seen how quickly he was able to get it all done, DH is fine with waiting until then. I feel a lot better now that that part is done!
Now the only big thing left is to see a Dr. (in our state, a home birth Momma has to be looked at by an MD who can verify her pregnancy, in order to get a birth certificate.) and that should be arranged today. We're just about ready!!!
Oh, I do have one question. I think I remember reading somewhere that the pool needs to have straight cold water at first, then straight hot. But I can't remember where I read that. So, any advice on actually filling the pool for the birth? How long should it be straight hot, etc?
