We are all trying to eat healthy for our babies... I thought it would be neat to start a thread where we can share some of our favorite lunch ideas!

Cream cheese and sprouts on a bagel, and a fruit smoothie on the side.

today it was a peach and some stop & shop brand triscuits (with no HFCS!!!) and a tofu sandwich (with vegannaise high in omega-3's, whoot!) on bakery whole wheat sliced bread. we ran out of lettuce yesterday though boo.

I eat cream cheese on a bagel almost every day for lunch (no sprouts for me, though that sounds yummy). My friends like to make fun of me for it, but it is so quick to throw together in the morning, and it tastes delicious!

Suddenly there's all this stuff I want to eat! I fear these days will not last.

I tend to make my lunches for the week on Sunday. This week it was pinto/black/kidney/garbanzo/navy beans cooked with a diced onion, some garlic, a bunch of smoked paprika, a bit of hot sauce, 1/2 cup water, about 3/4 of a beer (I figure it cooked out, I cooked it for a long time), simmered for an hour or two, and then topped with a tiny bit of provolone.

Yesterday I had a turkey and cheese sandwich on Miltons multi-grain bread (yum) and some bean salad... which was really just a few cans of beans rinsed, with a splash of basalmic dressing and some goat cheese crumbles.

Today I'll probably have another sandwich. I really want to add avocado... do I stop by the store on my way to work and fork out the $1.50 for a small avocado? Probably... :

I had some leftovers from last night. Pasta with chicken and sundried tomatos all in a light cream/wine sauce. It was yummy. And I just made a PB and bananna smoothie for snack.

I had chicken enchiladas for lunch... they were amazing! And they weren't bad on my blood sugar either!

So I need some at-work lunch ideas.

I want stuff that is "safe" for pregnancy, obviously. It needs to be either cold, or able to be cooked quickly in a microwave. And I'd like it to at least be semi-healthy. As in, serve some sort of decent nutritional purpose- even if it's not a really complete meal.

Mini-meals are also needed, because I'm not craving snacks at all. I'm craving meal food all. day. long.

So, for those of you who WOH, what are you eating?!

Ah, I had a big ol' new york strip steak and two kiwi fruits.

leftover veggie drawer sandwich....:

slices of: 1/2 portabella, carrots, onion, squash and swiss chard sauteed in olive oil with five pepper spice and thrown on a toasted gyro with fresh mozz.

best damn lunch i've had in ages. full, full, full.

I had a steak and salad yesterday (I tend to eat the warm/big meal in the middle of the day). Today, I feel like something with avocado in it ... not sure what yet.

now I want an avocado.

I just had turkey on rye with mustard and pickles, honeydew, yogurt, and peppermint tea. This is a great thread, I need new ideas!

No one else is having trouble eating real food? I had a plain hamburger because it was all I could imagine putting in my stomach...and there was no way I could cook, I went to Wendy's for me and the kids. DH made frozen pizza for himself.

I don't get pukey when I'm pregnant (at least not so far with my other two kids) but I spend about 10 weeks having to force myself to eat anything because all food is revolting.

Nope. The *only* thing I've wanted is real food.

I think I'm going to go by the store and get stuff to make biscuit pizzas. I can bring a ton of them to work, nuke them for a few seconds, and eat them throughout the day.

Of course, that'll last one day before I never want to see a biscuit pizza again.

I am the same way, except with real puking, haha. Food just sounds gross, and smells even worse. A dear friend of mine dropped off food today because she knew I would eat it if it were ready and easy, but otherwise i just want to eat ice cream.

i've been eating tomato sandwiches for lunch. white wheat, regular ol' mayo (YUM), LOTS of salt and pepper on the mayo, and thick sliced heirloom tomato, also w/ lots of salt and pepper. my mouth is watering right now thinking of it.

the other day, i had a tomato so big one slice made my whole sandwich. of course, the extra tomato has to be eaten too......

i am the same way about having to have "meal food" at lunch. i love having a hot, real meal anytime. i'd recommend making extra dinner, and eating leftovers for lunch. or make something at night specifically for reheating at work. like, a big pot of mashed potatoes and sauteed greens - stir the greens in and microwave. mmmmmmm

I'm not that into pepper, but I am a total salt addict. I love tom sandwiches with salt and mayo. And celery with salt... and everything with salt. It says right on the package that it has something that's necessary to your body, though I can't remember what it is... so five or six tablespoons a day is almost HEALTHY...
