You might try The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan. It has a similar angsty romance thing going on as Twilight. No vampires, but plenty of zombies. I'm not generally a fan of paranormal romance, and I actually quite liked it.

I just read through the twilight books for the second time and I am feeling the exact same way. (but too embarassed to admit it to my friends... eek, Hi my name is Wendy and I love a teenage romance vampire book - who am I??)

But!!! I can second the suggestions for the Outlander series, except I would suggest quitting them after Drums of Autumn... I know, blasphemy - but I just couldn't get through the one after that, or the one after that one..

I also second Time Travelers Wife - I too just saw the preview for that one and it brought back all the lovey feelings I got from reading it... god, that was the best book! I am thinking I will pick that one up again.

I did really love all the Ann Rice vampire books back in the day - those were good. They sweep you up in this world and its hard to come down out of it. I also loved her Mayfair witches series... what was that called? I can't remember - but I remember being totally in love with it.

Thank you for all your recommendations. So far I have read Outlander and The Hunger Games. Outlander was good except of all the rape scenes especially the last one, YUCK! I now feel like I have to get the next one just to have a happy ending. I'm even thinking about skipping the next one and only getting the last, but I'm afraid I'm going to miss something that way. The Hunger Games was really good. I had no idea there would be a second one and definantly didn't know the second wasn't even out yet. I am now onto the Vampire Diaries and that is okay, but I'm not really into them yet. I will let you know what else I read. Thank you soooooo much for your help!

I second the House of Night series. Blood and Chocolate is amazing. The story line is quite a bit different from the movie. Vittorio the Vampire by Anne Rice is very romantic. I love it
