New mama to be, new to the forum

Trying to figure this forum out so I figured I should start by posting an intro!

I am 28 y/o first time mama-to-be in my fourth month of pregnancy.
Currently living in the mountains of Arizona but counting down the days till me and the new fam move back to Minneapolis/St. Paul where I was born and raised to be closer to my original family.

I am a Native woman and my husband is mexicano and a lot of the "natural" parenting is something that we have always known. Breastfeeding is a must in my fam and co-sleeping is a norm (and often financially necessary!).

However certain things are difficult for my mom to grasp (like why on earth I would not want drugs during labor or why I might not want to fully vaccinate) and so reading Mothering has been helpful and hopefully these forums will be too.

I'm especially interested in connecting with other mamas of color and activist mamas...I know quite a few but not enough just yet in the area we are about to put down roots in and would love to create some more community.

Glad you are here!

Under the category "I'm Pregnant" are the "Due Date Clubs." I found that other pregnant mamas were an invaluable resource when I was pregnant. It might be a good place to checkout.
