Comments from PR Firms (ARRGH!)

Is anyone else plagued by comments from PR Firms? It used to be the high fructose folks, then it was margarine and now it's folks shilling for Breyers. My blog focuses on wholesome nutrition. Honest to goodness whole foods and these folks keep turning up as commenters on my blog. It drives me nuts because I can see their IP addresses / email addresses and know where they're coming from, but my general readership doesn't see that stuff, you know?

I used to delete the comments, then I posted an open letter to the HFCS people and now I just respond to them and call them out. (PM me if you want the link to my latest call-out.)

How do you deal with PR Firms spamming up your blog?

As soon as I put a contact form up on my blog, PR firms stopped spamming the comments and started emailing me, instead heh.

When they did comment, I rarely approved them and usually sent an email if I had any questions, etc

PR has been going nutty lately. There is a PR blackout planned for the week of Aug 10 and it seems that a lot of bloggers have noticed a flurry of activity in advance of this..
