Hi mamas! Just wanted to take my first quiet moment for a quick announcement & birth story!

Saturday I walked to the health store and got some evening primrose oil and applied it that afternoon. That evening started feeling crampy and woke up Sunday morning with contractions.
Sunday walked to whole foods, came home, chilled, timed the contrax, they were about 5 min apart for a few hrs then petered out to every 10-20 min or so. They ended up picking back up that night and went to the hospital at 6 am Mon.
6 cm dilated when we got there and I was feeling great. Hung out for a couple hrs then the midwife decided to break my water and a pitocin IV. After that labor really intensified, but after getting to 10 cm, I pushed for about 6 hrs- no pain meds- but his head was stuck.
I was exhausted and in a lot of pain so we decided to do an epidural to get through some more pushing. The epidural helped somewhat, but after pushing for 2 more hrs and no progress we had to call in the OB.
It was either c-section or forceps and I knew he just needed a little tug to get his head unstuck- we were so close! So we decided on forceps. The OB was soooo good and Ruben just popped out!
All told it was a rough 36 hrs of labor (total) with 9 hrs pushing but I am so grateful to avoid a c-section and Ruben is so beautiful! He is doing great and we are learning how to breastfeed together and both working hard. My DP has been amazingly supportive and nurturing to the both of us. I haven't even changed a diaper yet!! I am more in love with my new family every day
:
Thank you mamas for all your support and advice!!!!! You have been my saviors and are all in my thoughts and prayers for you and your LOs.
