i felt our baby kick last night!! dp and i were laying in bed and i had my hand on the left side of her belly where baby likes to hang out and he or she kicked me! dp said did you feel that?? so i know i wasn't imagining things! :

congrats indigo on the kick!! As a fatty, I'm still waiting to see and feel more movement. I certainly feel fluttering, swimming and cam sometimes see what side kiddo is hanging out on, but only 1 substantial kick and that was weeks ago?

yippee yahhoooo as I enter into week 20 today--1/2 wayish!!!! Or as DP said as soon as I woke up this a.m. "Congratulations and welcome to your second semester!!" hahahaha

My ma has been coming to all my mw appts, but tomorrow dp will come for the first time! Though we are trying to be clear around the "we are not co-parenting" stuff it seems that as the person who talks to my belly most, its only right that dp get to hear this lil ones heartbeat.

Congrats on the 1/2 way mark, kjm!!

DP and I went for the "20 wk u/s" yesterday. It was fun but not as fun as we both expected. The technician took me in on my own first and did all the measuring she had to do for about 10-15 minutes (with screen turned away from me). However, towards the end, the little one decided to turn away and bury it's sweet little head down so she couldn't get a good head measurement. So she had me walk around for about 5 minutes. I went and got DP and we walked around the block. DP came back in with me and we tried again. After a little rolling around (me, not DP :P) she finally got the measurement she wanted but by then baby was definitely not into turning around. So it was a quick tour and we didn't see much beyond his/her back and feet and hands. But it was still cool and so comforting to know that the little one is developing properly at this point. He/she measures at just under 20wks which is about a day further along than expected. Heart rate was a bit higher this time, at 158 (it has been 150 last 2 times with midwife) and the technician said everything looked "great."

So, now, as my midwife told us last time, I just continue to "grow our baby" and relax

I'm feeling regular movement now but not really "kicks." More like wiggles and pokes a few times a day. I love it

Hi everybody! I finally feel pregnant enough to join this board. We went for an ultrasound yesterday and heard the little heartbeat.

How're the people who are almost done?

I'm hanging in at 39 weeks minus 2 days. Got my first speeding ticket ever today and have been so upset about it. DP actually asked if I tried to sweet talk my way out of it...yeah right. I'm really attractive with this belly and sweat running down from the heat and pregnancy hormones. I haven't even looked to see how much it's for...I'm broke and afraid to know. Ugh.

Not sure how it goes in NY, but in MA all the court officials I know (and as a mediator I know many) all say fight all tickets!! The first time you appeal here in MA there is one cop that reads the report for all tickets, and even there often the judge will reduce the ticket, but I have always been told fight it again a second time because then the officer that gave you the ticket has to come to court and often times they wont and your ticket will be dismissed. It has worked many times for me and for dp. We usually fight them because in MA they make your insurance rate go up for years to come.

raene, another one here who says fight the ticket. first time offenders can usually get it dismissed or reduced. you don't have too much longer to go, how exciting!

dm, i hope your labour and delivery went well - we're all patiently waiting to hear your birth story.

afu, we had our son's 2yo check-up today. he's ahead of all the milestones and is still off the charts with his height and weight. he's 39" tall and in 4t clothes! omg!

: I think I remember you mentioning on another thread that your dp had a specific diagnosis; it wasn't the same as what I had, but I did struggle with daily vomiting throughout my pregnancy as well as some issues with weight gain and hydration, so I'm extra sympathetic to anyone dealing with those kinds of issues. I hope there are many more good days ahead for your dp.

My court date for the name change is in 2 weeks! :-)

I mailed it in today with the "not guilty" box checked, which is what DP's ex-cop dad told me to do, though I don't understand how that will work since it says plainly on my ticket "admits to knowing the speed limit was 30". So how can I plead not guilty? Pregnancy brain? Having a contraction? I don't really know what to say. My only excuse is I was late picking up my daughter from camp but I don't think that will fly. I should mention to them though that it was my first ticket ever. But it's not really fair b/c I'll be expected to go to court with what, a 2 day old baby? Ugh.

I would send someone else to court for you explaining you had a baby 2 days ago and askin for a continuance. you can plead Not guilty b/c the burden is on the state to prove that you are guilty and even if you are guilty they still have to show this. good Luck

April 5th is an awesome day to have a baby (though I may be biased).

Lots of contractions yesterday...so close together I couldn't focus on anything else. It was exciting! But alas, they quieted down after an hour or so. So it goes, I guess.

DCM, you around, or holding your little one now?

Afm, I'm doing really well. Our little one has been so active the last few days! It's so fun to feel!! I'm feeling great...mostly just tired and hungry...nothing a nap and a snack doesn't fix! We have started buying baby clothes and stocking up on diapers and covers already. I'm making a bunch of stuff and have to get going before time runs out! We also have a contractor coming by at the end of the month to give us an estimate on some renos we want to have done before the baby arrives. It's all happening so fast now!!

Hello everyone!!! I'm glad I just caught up with how everyone's doing. We did see the heartbeat last week but did not hear it. We were told that will have to wait until aroun 12wks. We got sooo excited that we started to tell more people about the baby and we are totally okay with that.

Saturday I started to get some light brown discharge which reminds me of the discharge I get when my period is over. It went away Sunday but came back yesterday. It also looked like brown cm but no clots. Dr said not to worry and we go back for another appt Friday.

Progesterone has increased some and I'm still taking prometrium. RE also put me on Folic Acid.

I've decided to cut out chicken, I already don't eat beef or pork. I would go completely vegan but I like fish and don't like soy or tofu.

I know what you mean. I was vegan (and raw) before the pregnancy but now I'm eating fish and eggs. It can be really hard to be so tight on the diet through that first trimester especially. We don't eat soy either, so we end up doing lots of beans, which I'm not really fond of..
