My sweet dd just turned 7 and it is like the flood gates filled with attitude suddenly opened up. Now, I saw it every now and then previously, but since her birthday it is just getting worse and worse!
Her tone of voice and talking back is out of control and I don't know how to handle it! She just seems so mad, it makes me sad.
What happened? More importantly, how can I help her calm down?
She really is a sweet girl, she's had it tough since her 3.5 yo brother was born. He is somewhat spirited and has required so much of my and my husbands attention and energy. And, I will say that over the past year, I have been more and more impatient and easily frustrated, so she is probably mimicking some of my not so nice behavior.
Anyone else dealt with this? Any suggestions? How can I talk with her to help her respond in a gentler, less "high strung" way?
