Diaper Rash

Thread Starter
I have the Grandma El's diaper ointment.
Is there anything else I can do for my poor little DD?
She is 3 wks old, we used sposies for the first 2 weeks and have been using cloth all of this week. She was starting to get a rash before we switched, but it has gotten especially worse the last couple of days
Help!

Grandma El's has always done the trick for me. If it's a yeasty rash, I would strip your diapers with Dawn and hang them in the sun. Since it started with sposies, I'm guessing it's not a reaction to the cloth or detergent. Hmmm... I'm not sure what else. Sorry mama!

I'm with you, but dd is 7 weeks old. I've found switching her to all cotton helped, but she still got one every time she pooped. Now that I've stopped eating dairy it's getting even better. I also stopped using bac-out since it has enzymes and I've heard that can cause rashes. Some kids have allergies to the detergent. Oh, and I also put coconut oil on her bum every diaper change and that really helps also (and it's cloth diaper safe). You just have to find what works for your baby, they'll all be different! GL! I know how frustrating it is!

I was thinking it might be related to enzymes too. If you can manage some naked-bottom time, too, that might help.
