Odd question- CD and apartments

Thread Starter
My husband and I are trying to move out of parent's home after a year of baby/unemployment. I am looking at some really cheap apartments that either don't have laundry facilities or coin-op washers. So I came up with this really really bad idea of possibly trying to wash cloth diapers in the dishwasher. Does anyone think it could possibly work??? I figure maybe rinse in the dishwasher and then boil and hang to dry....

I think that could be a very bad thing to do, not only for your dipes, but for your health (think about what's on those dipes being in your dishwasher the next time you wash dishes). Could you get a place with on-site laundry and string a line in your apartment to dry?

I think I'd hand-wash as opposed to washing diapers in the dishwasher. Are you using flats? I've never used them, but from what I understand, they are the easiest for handwashing and line drying.

id either hand wash, or but a large number of cheap diapers (prefolds and covers) and just take a ton to the laundrymat and wash there once per week. handwashing is a pitb but i have done it before.

I would handwash before using the dishwasher. I would actually use disposables before using the dishwasher.

Have you looked into those little energy efficient clothes washers that hook up to your faucet and run on a 110 outlet? I think there is even a counter top model but I am not sure about that. Some are washer/dryer combos that dry in the same tub as the wash.
