August-Whats for dinner??

Tell me what you are eating for supper with recipies if you can!

Tonight
Spagetti and Meatsauce from scratch (hamburger, tomato sauce, tomato paste, garlic, celery, gr pepper, mushrooms, zuchinni, and spices)

We're also having spaghetti and homemade meat sauce - with ground turkey instead of beef.

tonight-
grilled sockeye with corn and blueberry relish
grilled zucchini
garlic mashed potatoes (zucc and potatoes from the garden)

I haven't written out a plan for the week yet, but I know it will include gobs of zucchini and cabbage! lol

This is what we are having tonight:

Couscous Salad
Strawberry Soup

It's a first using both these recipes. . .I'll let you know what the kids think. I'm just way to hot to cook in our itty bitty kitchen!

Last night we had BLTs, grilled corn, and peaches.

Tonight we are having cornbread, purple hull peas, okra, and turnips.

This is the time of summer when homegrown tomatoes are starting to look their best, so I've got plans for making a big batch of gazpacho. Great for hot days.

Last night was leftovers which meant hot dogs for ds2, a chorizo for ds1, salads for dh and I (with veggies from the garden).

Tonight is potato soup and fresh bread.

tonight is steak, sautéed spinach with bacon, and macaroni and cheese (from scratch) and tomatoes from a farm stand

last night was beef bologna sandwiches

Tonight we're having a stir fry with whatever veggies are in the fridge (mostly zucchini) and some leftover pork roast.

Yesterday we had veggie rice pilaf. lemon collared greens, blackened tilapia, and key lime pie for dessert. Everything turned out so good! But now I have a huge mountain of dishes to wash

Last night, the boys had leftover tacos, I had a veggie quesadilla and zucchini cakes. Dh ate at work.

Tonight, I'm not sure. We usually go to my mom's but we're not tonight and I have nothing planned. Decided on baked trout, stir fried onions and zucchini and some sort of rice.

Monday - breakfast for dinner - hashbrown casserole (homemade, no canned soups, etc ) and maple sausage, scrambled eggs with mushrooms.

Tuesday - chicken, spinach & mushrooms over couscous

Tonight - chicken, zuchinni, mushroom & tomato subs on whole wheat rolls with fresh farm cheese and sweet potato fries.

Thurs - Salmon with brown rice and broccoli

Friday - going to my parents house - so dinner out!

Tonight I made pizza.

Last night I made this okra & tomato curry that was posted in a different thread a few days ago. It was fantastic!

The night before that I cut up a whole chicken and fried it, Alton Brown style. I served it with mashed potatoes & steamed broccoli.

Last night, I went out for mexican food for a friend's bday, dh ate at work and the boys had take out.

Tonight, we're either having leftovers or fried eggs and toast.

Last night I made General Tsos Chicken (used a whole chicken for 4 adults & toddler), along with brown rice & steamed green beans. Night before was Fra Diavolo Shrimp...Not sure what we're doing tonight. probably take out since I doubt we'll get home in time for me to cook (I have a midwife appointment at 3 and its a 45 minute drive each way)

Tomato-stuffed mock chicken breasts (not stuffed for the kids)
Baby potatoes with green onion
Mozarella salad
Ice Cream

The mock chicken is made and sitting in the fridge, but I'm at work, so I have no recipes!

Update: The kids loved the strawberry soup. I garnished it with cinnamon pita chips. The Couscous salad was way to sour for my kids to eat. Next time I will cut down the lemon juice.

Tonight we are having pork chops, green beans, and spinach salad (if it is still good, everything has been freezing in my fridge lately). Not very exciting, but we have everything to make it and I'm too tired to think of anything else

Saturday - we went out for a bbq.
Sunday - homemade pizzas.
Tonight - not sure, either out somewhere or leftovers.

Last night we had stuffed pork chops recipe here They turned out REALLY good (we had rice for me and mac-n-cheese for DH with it)

Tonight we're having good old fashioned nachos! (ground meat, beans, cheese, salsa and make your own)


Tues: Chicken Tortilla Soup (new recipe. experiment time)
Wed: Chorizo, Egg, Bean Tacos
Thurs: Oriental Pork Chops (another new one)
Fri: Hamburgers and Zucchini Balls (like hush puppies but with zucchini)
Sat: Probably eating out...we're having a day out with family

Sun: Probably lefovers/fend for
Mon: Chili
Tues: Breakfast
Wed: Marinated Pork Chops recipe
Thurs: Pork and Bean Tacos
Fri: Sausage and Rice
Sat: Fried Chicken


That's as far as we've planned so far.
