Have you hard of this baby carrier?

Thread Starter
I am really wanting to start wearing my DS who is 8 weeks old. I think it will make our lives a WHOLE lot easier if I wear him around plus I think he would just so LOVE it!

I have looked at various wraps online. I am really interested in one called Wrap n' Wear. Anyone ever heard of these or have one? Is it easy to use?

I need a carrier that I will be able to "load" on my own. Please recommend one if you haven't heard of this one!

Thanks!

hi NJ
i've never heard of that wrap but use the moby wrap, which is just a long piece of cloth. other brands market similar things.
it has been great.

Get something light weight & gauze-ish if you can. I've found out the hard way(via my wallet) that anything else just gets too darn warm even in the a/c.

I haven't used one or seen one in person, but here are the reviews from The Babywearer:

http://www.thebabywearer.com/cgi-bin...=stretchywraps

Although overall it gets great reviews, the review by Jan Andrea does raise concerns for me, because she is a very experienced seamstress and her concerns about the durability of the fabric would make me nervous. If it were me I'd get a solid one and not a panel one to try.

If you want a lightweight wrap, I can't recommend Gypsymama highly enough -- I've used both the Bali Baby Stretch and Breeze personally and they're excellent wraps. The Stretch was the first wrap I ever tried that I could actually use easily and comfortably. I had previously tried a Didymos and EllaRoo with no success at all.

I haven't heard of that one (going to look it up now though) but I too have and love the moby wrap. I thought it looked too difficult, because I wanted to be able to put it on and put the baby in it by myself. It's a lot easier than I first thought, and DS loves it.
I hope you find something you like!

It's a gauze wrap (crinkle cotton) that is in the market and similar to other gauze wraps. If you wanted to try a gauze wrap, you can go to your local fabric store and buy about 4.6m (what is your weight and height?), trim the width to 25-27 inches and then serge the ends and sides. That will be very close, if not identical, to the other gauze wraps you buy from babywearing stores. Gauze is wonderful for warm weather, but because gauze is thin (regardless of the brand...it's a thin fabric), you will get more pressure points on your body while wearing it, then you would with a more substantial wrap. Another step up from gauze is Ellaroo, which will give you less pressure points. From there wraps like Vatanai, Neobulle, Hoppediz, Storch, Didymos, and Girasol are the top of the line and will provide you with cush on you, which means you don't have to be quite as careful in wrapping as you do with the thin ones and still be comfortable.

Regarding heat...yes thin is not as hot, but thin is still hot on hot and humid day. I rather be comfortable though, so I still wrap all summer long with any wrap, regardless of thin/thickness. I find my own t-shirt to be hot on a hot and humid day, so anything on me will be hot. But, since I babywear for hours at a time, I chose comfort and go for the more comfortable wraps.

Stretchy wraps are also an option and I find a bit more comfortable than gauze wraps.
