Is this realistic

I used a diaper service for dd#1 for the first year and then bought 24 Green Mountain prefolds and 6 proraps and 3 bum genius 2.0 AIO one size which she has worn ever sense (she is now 2). This has worked very well for us. I launder 2x a week.

Baby #2 comes in Dec. and instead of the diaper service I plan to start with my own cloth with this child (I'm doing the laundry anyway right?). I love the BG AIO and am leaning toward adding to that stash and skipping the infant size prefolds.

I'm thinking about getting 20 or so BG 3.0 AIO one size. Is it realistic to just go with them for the entire infancy and beyond? Their billed to work that way but I got dd#1's when she was bigger so I never used them with a new born.

I don't want a lot of wasted diapers. I do like the proraps and have a couple small ones that i could use if I buy the diapers to go with them. This will be our last child so I'm not looking to add a large number of prefolds that the little one will outgrow right away. That is why the diaper service was nice. You can upsize at anytime but the cost over the year makes one size BG appealing.

Ideas???

I have 40 of the old BG 2.0s - we've used them since DS was about 1 month old (he was born @7# 7.5oz), and they said 8-35#s... once he got to be a bit more than 8#s they did start fitting him. I orderd 24 new BG 3.0s a few days ago, and am hoping that they'll fit from day one (they say 7-35#s - not sure whats changed but we'll see), if not, we'll use sposies for the first few weeks till they do Oh, DS is now nearly 29 months and still fits in his old bg 2.0s peachy fine

It really depends on the size of your babe and if the bulkiness bothers you. I expect another babe under 7 lbs (due 8/15!!!) and don't really think the one-size dipes will fit at first. So I do plan to use pf and covers for a while. I want to have diapers that fit well. Lots of people use sposies until the one-sizes fit if you don't want to go the pf route.
