left out lasagna - need advice

Thread Starter
I spent two hours preparing lasagna yesterday. A beautiful, vegetarian lasagna. It wasn't quite done before I had to leave for a birthday party, so I turned off the oven and left it to sit until we got home, with the intention of putting it in the fridge. We arrived home late, went to sleep, and I only remembered this morning it was still in the oven! So, it was left out of refrigeration for about 15 hours. It was tightly covered with foil, sitting in the oven. Do I need to throw it out? Is it salvageable? What do you think?

Oh no------I've done that.
As sad as it is---I wouldn't risk it. I've had severe food poisoning and ended up in the hospital.

I wouldn't eat it.

If you are brave you can cook the dickens out of it, and see what happens.

I'd throw it out. Too risky.

I'd eat it! It was in the oven, it was covered in foil, it doesn't have any meat in it. yeah i'd eat it. and i have eaten it (well not like i broke into your house and ate, but like I've eaten my own that was left like that)

If you do decide to eat it make sure you cook the heck out of it to kill bacteria. Of course if it has cheese in it it may be kind of sour so you might not like the flavor anyway.

i wouldn't because of the dairy that is in it.
