crashing from May...we did it about exactly 2 weeks. I think as long as the bleeding is gone (mine was almost ) it's fine. I didn't tear either and that made so much more of a difference. With DD1 I had 1 stich but it's crazy how that one little tear feels compared to not tearing. I felt completely normal 5 hours after birth.

Count me in the "Are you CRAZY?!?!" camp. I'm 12 days pp.

I *love* my dh, LOVE him. But not going to dtd anytime soon. W/ ds...it was 4 months. However, I don't think it will take that long this time. Don't get me wrong, I like to dtd as much as the next person, but w/ a new baby, a toddler, and all that goes with it, I'm not in a big hurry.

What I would like is just some quiet alone time w/ dh. Time to snuggle, chat, just be close to one another. Yeah, we sleep in the same bed each night, but we're both so exhausted we just collapse- and he has been getting up super early, to get to work earlier, so he can get home to help us out.

Have any of you experience w/ DTD pp after a c-section? The nurse in the hospital said I couldn't have anything in me for 6 weeks, DH included. It just doesn't make sence to me since my baby didn't come out the natural way. I did dialate fully though (if that makes a difference) DD heart rate kept crashing when we pushed.

Saw the doc today for the incision and he says the skin (of the incision) has healed together (I was glued not stapled). Do you all think its ok? I would love too!!

After my c-section with DS, my abdomen was very sore. Since your muscle tissue was cut, it takes a little longer to heal than with a vag delivery. The muscle needs to come back together and heal in order for you to use your abs for support and strength. DH and I waited about 8 weeks after my c-section, but I would think that 6 would be fine. I guess it really depends on how you are feeling but just keep in mind that the movement involved in DTD can cause a lot of strain on the abs - be careful if you do it soon!!

I've been telling DH (and most everyone else) that there will be NO SEX until DH gets snipped. We've done some fooling around but if I'm going to stick to my guns I fear it may be a LONG time before we dtd again.

I am 12 days pp and I am totally not going to dtd for a while. Funny how not being able to makes you want to more. I was just wondering if orgasms are out of the question too? And will it hurt? Sorry but I have just got to ask.

13 days pp, and while I really want to, it is definitely not happening for quite some time. I had 4 stitches due to a tear, and I still end up feeling quite swollen and sore down there when I spend too much time upright. The lack of action is leaving me with some pretty racy dreams lately though

I've got the same question. I've been wanting to since 2 days PP and I know that I won't be able to actually DTD for a bit yet. It would help if DH and I could both have some relief other wise though.
I don't mind helping him out in other ways, but when I'm wanting it too it's a bit harder to do it happily. lol

I had an orgasm and it didn't hurt but we didn't dtd. I have to say that I did worry about incontinence a little, though.

Question for those of you who have been through this before... I used a tampon today (I know, not supposed to postpartum, but I went for a run and just couldn't wear a pad.) It was only in for about an hour but boy did it hurt! It was fine when it went in and after about 30 minutes or so I started to feel really sore. It hurt removing it, too (and it wasn't dry). Once it was out I was totally fine - no lasting discomfort.

So is this what sex is going to feel like the first time? Now I am scared! I was thinking about going for it in the next few days but now I am not so sure : What do you guys think?

I couldn't wait for you mamas to answer, so I talked to my midwife, and she said that orgasm is excellent and very beneficial for tightening the uterus. :
And interesting thing is that I was bleeding very heavy, but after orgasms, it has gotten alot less.:::

I never thought to ask about orgasms. But, uhm... so far, I haven't had any negative side-effects. I was a little crampy afterward, but no pain.

I feel ready to DTD, and boyfriend is more than okay with the idea, but I want to wait until Monday's appointment with the midwife -- I'll be almost 4 weeks PP.

You ladies are crazy! LOL I am waiting until my 6 week appt to get the "go ahead". I had a 3rd degree tear from my perineum down thru my rectum though and have No desire for anything to be anywhere near that. LOL

Okay...i did it, lol!

One time at 2 weeks...no pain until after...just a little, short lasting.
We've done it a few times since then and it's only gotten better - no pain anymore at all. Yeah, i'm still bleeding a *little* (some days nothing, other days i am...annoying!) but otherwise feel great.

As far as orgasms go...I've had a couple (with my vibe) and there wasn't any pain at all.

So i say if you are ready - go for it! Just take it slow

Me too! but I waited untill almost six weeks post partum. I was SO afraid that it would hurt. Plus, I've been too flippin' exhausted to think about anything but sleep when Baby is asleep, I hadn't really felt like doing it until thr last week or so.


It went well. It felt weird at first, but not painful. (I had two small tears inside that didn't require any stitches.) Worst part was, DD started to wake just as we were finishing so we had no snuggle time!
