Anybody suspect they're carrying more than one? - Page 2

Due to the fact that this is a surprise pregnancy that must have occurred right before my Husband and I sort of separated (as much as two people who don't actively dislike each other and have two kids and have to share a car can actually be separated) it will be me. Probably Quads knowing my luck.

I had to laugh at that last part LOL
If it makes you feel better, my DP is also my XH so we aren't all cookie cutter or anything LOL

I hope not :/ I know that sounds awful, but I don't want twins. Of course I'd accept it and deal with it, but I've never been one of those "Omg wouldn't twins be sooooo totally awesome?!" types.

Every time I see someone post in this thread, I wonder if it's someone coming to say they're having multiples.

I don't know why, but I've thought for quite some time that I'd have twins with my second pregnancy -- but I really hope I don't!

I always think so too, especially with all the early ultrasounds people have been planning. Come on, someone's got to take the punch!

I know. I'm pretty sure "Would you prefer to have multiples?" is on those questionarres used to determine one's sanity.

I already had my 6wk ultrasound & I've only got one bugger in there. I LOOK like I'm having triplets, however. My fundus is up to my bellybutton. Freaking ridiculous.

I almost wish I didn't know for sure I was only having one, that way when people get all big eyed & "Sure there's only one in there?" I could be all "Oh maybe! You think so?" instead of - um - COMPLETELY mortified

I get that every time I'm pregnant. When I was 5 months pregnant with #3, this lady asked me if it was twins. I said no, I already had my u/s, there's only one. She was totally unconvinced and was all "Well, I've had twins, and I'm pretty sure you are!" No lady, I'm just huge!

I certainly hope it's not me!

oh boy! Hope it isn't me either. I did IVF but we only trasferred ONE. I will know on monday, after all the blood testing. It usually will give you a clue on whether or not it's more then ONE.

maybe

I'm an identical twin, my grandfather was an identical twin(he lost his twin at birth), my DH's dad is a fraternal twin, as is his grandmother. Also, my mother said that some great aunt of hers had twins. So, my chances are pretty high, I would say. I guess I'll find out tomorrow. It's my first prenatal appointment!

fraternals are the only ones proven to run, and it's (propensity to release 2+ per cycle) through the female line. so: don't worry!!

We conceived via IUI w/ injectable drugs. I had at least three large follies when we triggered...so it could be me. Although our RE was not confident in DH's sample and was very surprised that we got pregnant at all. With that said, if we proved him wrong on one count I guess we could totally blow him out of the water with twinsies.

At first I was very worried about having twins and did not want two. But now I'm just so frickin happy that we're finally pg that I just want this baby bubble(s) to stick around and be healthy.

CONGRATS!!!!

Is there a mothers of multiples group in your area? If so, they can be a great resource on local OBs/pediatricians/etc, as well as a source for used twin stuff. Not to mention a ton of support, since they've all been in your shoes before.

I'll have to see what I can find. I'm terrified, and DH seems to be taking it better than I am at the moment :\

I don't blame you for being scared! Pregnancy and parenting is scary enough when it is just the prospect of one extra person to take care of - two is a big jump. The good news is that you have months and months and months to prepare, and that it sounds like your partner is excited. You are going to be okay.
