Next Food Network Star - SPOILERS!!!

So......Anyone watching? I'm so excited for the finale!

I want Melissa to win. I love her! And she's right, there isn't a home cook well represented on the Food Network. And, man can she cook!

I don't care for Jeffrey. I think he's very bland and a bit schmoozy. Sort of like a used car salesman.

Go Melissa!

I want Melissa to win. But I like Jeffrey too.

I was pleased with the ending...which I won't post in case someone who hasn't seen it yet reads the thread.

I'm more interested in watching the kind of show the winner will put together-the cooking and meals are far more my style than the loser.

is this the only food network star thread?

I was so excited when they announced the winner! Exactly what I wanted.

Ok, I marked it "Spoilers" so we can talk

I LOVED that Melissa won! She has such a great personality, I love all her tips and information and her show concept is fantastic.

Jeffrey was fine but really, who has time to go search out all these ingredients that he's brought over from all around the world. I think his concept would be great for the occasional special but, not a weekly show. Melissa's show is so much more real. Great ending!

I'm happy with the result -- I'll give Melissa's show a shot. Although I heard that it's going to be a "$10 Meals" concept, where $10 feeds a family of four, and I'm not too thrilled about that -- I liked her Survival Guide concept more. I hope she shows us how to make her potato gratin in the muffin tins sometime -- those looked great!

Jeffrey was fine, but I didn't think he was informative enough about his star ingredient of harissa during his demo. I think he should have talked about what it's made of, how it's used in North Africa, other ways we could use it, etc.

ETA: I loved the montage they showed of how Melissa talks about breastfeeding all the time!

i was disappointed when i saw the $10 meals commercial today too. i really liked the survival guide idea

I missed the montage with the breastfeeding talk.

I am another one that is disappointed with the $10.00 meals. FN went a screwed up her idea. I am looking forward to seeing the show regardless.

I wrote them ("contact us" is at the bottom right of their home page). I'm really disappointed in the $10 meals concept. I know how to make cheap meals. Most every mom does. I don't need lessons on making cheap meals. Plus, they already have Sandra Lee doing a cheap meal show and I don't watch her either.

I want what Melissa does best! Wholesome, home cooking with tons of information, tips and tricks to make life easier. I don't want her to teach me to make cheap meals, I can do that myself. I want her to have a format to share her information. I hope they change it and give her a chance.
