Movie with "Up Where We Belong"?

Okay, this is driving me nuts. What is the movie that I know the song "Up Where We Belong" from? I don't know it from An Officer and A Gentleman and I don't know it from Moulin Rouge. I've never seen either of those. I'm remembering it playing during the credits of something. I'm thinking probably a cheesy 80s movie. Probably a romance. What IS IT??? My dp won't believe me. He says I don't know it from a movie. I KNOW that I know that song from a MOVIE!

Wikipedia shows some random TV episodes that it's been used in, before-- The Simpsons, Family Guy, Scrubs, etc.

Not sure if that helps any or not.

Yeah I read the list on Wiki and it didn't help me. It's not a tv show I know it from; it's definitely a movie. I'm pretty sure it plays at the end of the movie, but it might start playing before the credits start rolling.

The movie with Robert Downey Jr. and Cybil Shephard!!! Cannot remember the title at the moment. RDJ was the reincarnated husband of Cybil Shephard, but her daughter loved him.

Hmm, have I seen that?

I have this feeling like I've seen the movie that I know the song from over and over. I feel like I know the song really well (the chorus anyway), without ever having listened to it on the radio. I just know it from the movie. So I should REALLY have been able to think of what the movie is by now, you know? I posted this thread because my dp started humming the song, and I instantly said to him, "oh, that's that song from that movie... which movie is it again?" and I thought it must come to me in a few minutes. I feel like I know it like the back of my hand. It's driving me crazy.

Maybe you were up late watching movies on TV and kept hearing it on those Time Life Compilation CD ads?

Southwest also used it a while back.

The main sappy song from that movie is "After All" sung by Cher/Peter Cetera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGZLz3123t4 Up Where we Belong is not heard.
