So I have been wondering (obsessing really) of how this labor will start. With my DD, I was sleeping and woke up to contractions around 1am and was then wide awake in anticipation. I wonder if the same thing will happen this time or if I will start having contractions when I am already awake. How did yours come on if you have already had a baby? I'm just curious...

i am like the national guard of cervical mucus right now! last time i woke up at 5am to cramps and had bloody show...the whole plug was pretty much out by midday, and i stayed consistently crampy until i hit active with 4-6 minute contractions around 6pm, dd was out by 1am. i had almost no braxton hicks or other early labor signs in the weeks preceding. and water didn't break until i was pushing.
so i'm convinced that my labor will follow exactly the same pattern. every morning that i don't wake up with that pseudo-period reads as a day the baby isn't coming!

Last time I had bloody show on Friday or Saturday, and then on Monday just before dinner, I started having cramping like it was my period. The "cramping" happened over and over and got more frequent over the course of several hours. I think it took only a couple of hours for me to figure out that it was probably the real thing. After 7 1/2 hours of it, I got dressed and went to the car, which took me about half an hour to do between contractions (I had something like a 2-3 minute break each time), and by the time we got to the hospital, I was dilated enough for them to admit me.

Only went into labor on my own once.
Was having a ton of BH contractions that whole day, but didn't think much of it. Cooked an entire Thanksgiving dinner (MIL canceled dinner at the last second do to illness and I wanted my turkey dinner THAT badly). Went to bed around 10:30. Woke up at 11 in labor (contractions painful enough to wake me up). Found bloody show when I went to the bathroom. Went to the hospital around 1 am. Water artificially broken around 2:30. Baby born the next day at 12:20 p.m.

i can only really remember DD1 and DStwo which were 1yr and 17days apart!
DD1i woke at 3:15am feeling like CRAP, crampy, premenstrual. woke DH to tell him i was going in the bath adn he didnt need to wake up but keep an ear out incase i needed him. was in bath for an hour, got out, paced around, Ctrx got stronger, by 4:45am DH wanted me to call hossy, so i did was told not to go in as they were busy, had a ctrx on phone, lasted AGES was told ok come it, if your not in labour we will send you home, got to hossy at 5:3o ish, oh look, 5cm, baby born two and a half hours later.
DStwo. i woke at some strange hours, i thin it was around 4am ish, getting some crtx, looked at time and started timing them, every 1o mins, then every 8, 6 5 ,8 ,9 3, 6, 7 etc on and on, i say to my self, i am not bloody getting up till a reasonible hour lay in bed just letting it happen, drifted back to sleep at aroun 5:45. woke at 6:3o, turned over to wake DH up as other two were awake, WOOSH waters went, oh dear look, its green, oh, merconium, dash to hossy, get there aroun 7ish, im 3cm, get to go in bath, checked again at 11am, im still 3cm. pit started, baby born at 1:45pm.
DS1 was a cold induction and i dont really remember it, DDtwo was a hellasious experiance i never want to repeat, my birth story for her is around here somewhere if anyone wants to find it. i dont want to go into it at the mo as im avoiding thinking about it becauise im so close with this one, i jsut want to think about DD1s labour, sweet, short, and not too painfull, and NO BLOODY DRIP!!!! <hers was the only labout with no PIT!! i want that one again!!>

With DS my labor started with my water breaking, literally as I sat down to eat dinner... this time, I really don't think I'll believe it untill either they get SUPER intense/constant or if my water breaks again - I've been having false labor for so long, I just don't think I"ll believe it, at least not right away!!

This is me too! I keep thinking that I will probably go into labor in my sleep again, so every morning I wake up at a normal time, I think "hmm, not today". But that may not neccesarily be true!
