Congrats Mama!: I had horribly cracked and bleeding nipples with dd. They resolved after about 2 weeks. Go topless as much as possible.

Congrats!!! Enjoy your baby moon As far as nipple pain, make sure he is opening his mouth really wide, and then bring him to your breast. Also, warm compresses before/after feeds would be a good idea.

Check out the breastfeeding challenges forum here on mdc, give your local LLL leader a call (some WIC offices also offer LC assistance, your ped may have an LC on staff, and your birth provider and/or their backup hospital may have LC access as well), and browse through the Kellymom website for ideas... hang in there but don't suffer in silence! There are people and places that can help with breastfeeding.
