zOMG SWINE FLU!!!!111!!1! - Page 3

So here's my concern. You say they had fevers of 103-104. Normally I'd just say, "ooh, that sucks!" and take some ibuprofen/tylenol to get it down just a bit (I know that a bit of a fever is generally serving a purpose).

But isn't 103-104, like, really dangerous for a fetus?

I'm so conflicted.

Yes, it's dangerous for a fetus.

So let's consider the alternatives. An ingredient list hasn't been published, so we have no idea what's in this vaccine. Say the vaccine has NO ingredients that are dangerous for a developing fetus - which it won't. Even the normal flu vaccine has dangerous ingredients. But say it doesn't. You get the vaccine, and it MAY help prevent you from showing symptoms. These things aren't perfect by any stretch, and especially when it's being rushed through production and testing.

So you have two choices here:

1. Stay healthy and risk getting it. You have a broad spectrum of responses from "less worrisome than a cold" to "death."

2. Get the vaccine. You still risk getting it, though if the vaccine works, it could be a smaller risk than without the vaccine, and having a broad spectrum of responses from "less worrisome than a cold" to "death," as well as risking a reaction to the vaccine itself and risking a reaction to the vaccine by your unborn child.

IMO, of course. I think (to me) the benefits of staying healthy and buying my time outweigh what I see as an unethical marketing of a vaccine that hasn't been tested nearly enough for my taste.

I was going to get the flu shot but remember I have to have the one with inactive something in it,not the ones the kids can get.Live virus thats what it is LOL preggo mind goes blank alot.

Im not worried about the swine flu, just more worried about the kids getting sick or lice from all the other kids in school. So I just need to take more precautions for school.
