down to the wire. baby name help please!

DH and I still haven't agreed on a girl's name, so my strategy is to just pick it and then use labor and delivery as the final leverage needed to get my top choice. So, first name is pretty settled as far as I'm concerned, it's the middle name(s) that I am having issues with...please weigh in! Kaylor is a family name. Our last name is 3-syllables, and DD#1 is Benedicte Marie Kaylor.

Here's the full name: Verity ____ Kaylor V.

which of the following best fills-in-the-blank:

Lark (DH hates it. used to be a brand of cigarettes? who knew.)
Mireille (Mee-RAY)
Belén (Bell-EHN)
Pearl
Wren (Ren happens to be my cat's name, is that too weird?)
Quetzal (Ket-ZAHL)

I like Lark, Wren, and Belen. I actually know a Belen and think it's a cool name. Mireille, I love in French...but not Americanized.

Good luck! We're having the same trouble with names but DH has requested that I not tell what the options are, so I can't get any advice at the moment.

i like verity mireille. but i also like the cadence of a single syllable in there, so my #2 is verity pearl.

i agree about Mireille. I can't pronounce it properly either. But it's just so darn visually appealing! I could spell it americanized - Maret - but that's pretty close to Marie.

The one syllable cadence is nice, but there aren't many one-syllable names...any suggestions? I like redpajamas Bee idea...maybe I'll look around for some other nature-inspired names.

Thanks and keep the ideas coming!

I like Belen and Mireille the best. However, I would think of a different spelling for Mireille because it will be forever mispronounced.

Belen! I knew a girl named Belen. Such a great name.

My vote is for Pearl.

I love Lark and Wren, but Wren doesn't flow as nicely in the context of the name, in my opinion. Lark would be my choice.

Me too!

We decided on the middle name for our son because I was awoken by the crows to tell me I was going to have the baby that day.

I really like all the names you have for your baby. Great taste!
