newbie questions

Thread Starter
my bay is 8 days old so far the cloth diapering is going great; I'm using prefolds and knitted covers. I just have a couple of questions I hadn't considered before.

Do you wash your snappis? Sometimes they are pretty damp after a wet diaper. If so, how?

Wetbags- do you wash your pail liner every time you wash diapers? Where do you put the diapers while the pail liner is in the wash? What about diaper bag wetbags, do you wash that every time you use it? Switch between 2 so you always have one for the diaper bag?

TIA

I would wipe down the snappis if they're wet. We use pins, so I'm not sure if snappis can be washed!

I do wash my pail liner with each load of diapers. We now have three that we alternate between. I would recommend at least two!

When I have a Snappi on a really wet diaper, I just take it to the bathroom sink with me when I go to wash my hands after a diaper change (I set the LO in the crib after I change him, then go wash my hands). I don't really wash the Snappi, I just rinse it well.

I have 2 pail liners, so when one is in the wash I have the other one in the pail.

I just rinse off of our Snappis when needed.

I wash our pail liner when I wash the diapers. I have 4 wetbags besides my pail liner and one of those is usually clean and I use that while the pail liner is in the wash since she typically only goes through 1-2 diapers in the time it takes to wash and dry the pail liner.

I did sometimes rinse my snappis off under a faucet, if they seemed to need it. And a few times when they got messy (usually with food the kiddos dropped on their laps, once they started eating) DH put them through the dishwasher, in the little basket we use for washing sippy cup lids and stuff, so the snappi didn't get lost in the dishwasher.

Yes, I washed the wet bags every time I washed diapers. I had four pail liners, one in each of two diaper pails, one usually clean, and one in the wash. I had two pails, though, because I had three in dipes at once. With DD1, I had only two pail liners, which was more than enough. And yeah, I also had multiple wetbags for the diaper bag, and washed them each time they were used.
