healthy, quality meat choices

Hi! I'm going through a lot of dietary changes and am currently vegan, gluten, corn and soy free. I'm considering adding high quality protien back into my diet but the thought of meat is still making me feel icky. Preservatives, hormones, salt etc... Can anyone make any recommendations of where to start? I'm eating a lot of rice, feeling a whole lot better and am thinking of adding lean protien to my diet. No milk or cheese or eggs. I do use some eggs in baking but too many will make me ill. I do eat beans but they can also be complicated on the digestive system. I don't like fish but some shellfish are OK.

Thanks in advance! Looking forward to different points of view.

Check Local Harvest for humane farms near you. http://www.localharvest.org/

Or check your farmer's market. They may not have anyone selling pastured meat, but they may someone who is, so ask the farmers.
