My twins arrived!!!

I just wanted to let you guys know that my boys have arrived on January 20 at 4pm and 4h17pm. THe labor was really nice and quite fast. THey were both head down and I managed a birth without epidural. So I did my birth naturally and without any intervention which is what I wanted. THey were at 33 weeks and 6 days. We had to spend 9 days in the NICU and I had to put my foot down because I wanted to exclusively nurse them. ( days later I walked out of the NICU with exclusively nursed boys. Now I nurse them together one on each breast and it is working great. THey were not too big but not too small 4lbs 9onzes each.

I am quite happy to have them finally home with all of us.

Congratulations! Good for you for making sure they got only breastmilk.

I have a question -- I know 34 weeks is awfully early, did they need help breathing? Or was the time in the NICU just as a precaution?

Awesome! Sounds like an almost perfect twin birth (if you skip the NICU it would be perfect!)

I can't wait to see pictures.

No my twins did not have any breathing problems they were not intubated. I had the steroid shotsto activate the lungs at 27 weeks and a booster 12 hours before the delivery.

They were in there because they had to stay until they had 35 weeks and to regulate their temperature and then the only problem is that they became jaundiced quite a bit. As soon as their jaundice was done they started to gain weight only on my breast milk and so htey let us go as soon as they hit their 35 weeks.

It was very hard to see them in an incubator but now we are all home and very happy, nursing every 2-3 hours together in hte football position.
