They JUST went to commercial. Teaser: Coming up, how young is too young to teach girls about motherhood? A new doll that simulates breastfeeding.

I didn't see this as I don't have cable, but I know on another forum I post on there was a big uproar over this. People were saying things like, "Yeah, it's a normal bodily function for a GROWN WOMAN!...but for a little girl?!?! Really?!?!" Ok really, going by that logic, then why does a LITTLE GIRL have a BABY in the first place?! It was okay for a little girl to "play mommy" before but not that breastfeeding is introduced it's "too mature"?! Ugh!

It's called a Bebe Gloton

They really didn't do a real full story on it. Just mentioned it with a tone of voice that said they found it strange and somewhat amusing...

I don't understand why its controversial. There's nothing sexual about breastfeeding. My 4yo and 21 month old both breastfeed their dolls. There's no other way for them to feed their babies. We don't have any bottles in the house.

Fox & Friends is typically pretty pro-breastfeeding.

I do find the nipple bra thing a bit weird. It just seems awkward. Nice idea, but I'm not a fan of the execution. Especially the way it was crying the whole freaking time she was nursing it!

Of course, I have three daughters who'll put any doll up against their (real, actual) nipple to nurse, so I don't see much utility in this thing. It's great for mamas like me who refuse to buy their kids dolls with bottles but still have kids who want the eats-drinks-sleeps-cries sort of doll.

My 22 month old DS has been breastfeeding his sisters dolls for months :

When my boys were younger, they both bf their "babies"... now my ODS (and recently my MDS) brings their babies to me to nurse! LOL It seems to be mostly mainstream people that are not liking this doll. I don't see anything wrong with it.
