I didn't have any bloody show with DS until I was 6-7cm and in heavy labor. My water was broken for me while I was pushing him out. So, my first indication of labor was crampy contrax that were really regular and 7 minutes apart.

At the births I've attended it has been pretty common for the show and/or ROM to occur closer to transition than the start of labour. I definitely wouldn't discount active labour in the absence of either.

With my first, my water broke, I was not in labor yet, no bloody show until after transition in the hospital.

With my second, my MW broke my water at 8 cm. No bloody show.

With my third, I was induced, my water broke at about 7 cm in the hospital.

This time, my contractions have been on and off for several days, I am crampy and just waiting for the contractions to get regular.



Good luck to you but water breaking and bloody show are not a given!

with dd- mucus, loads of blood, a very messy labor, water broke only as baby was coming out.

with this ds- water semi broke like a trickling out for about 2 hours, and then it stopped, only a tiny bit of bloody show, what a great clean labor, water finished breaking as baby was coming out followed by tons of blood.

Why can't it be the same so you know what is coming?!
