2nd thoughts on Baby's Name

So my dh and I were set on the name we picked out a month or so after our ultrasound and now we are having 2nd thoughts! Is this awful of us?? I felt somewhat bad about it because my 2 year old ds has been calling her by this for the past few months, but I guess he can learn a new name. Any thoughts on this? Not to mention we've told everyone this name already

SAME EXACT SITUATION!!! Abrielle learned the new name quickly and easily!

People like my new name better than the old one... Keep both names in mind and then when babe comes, make your mind up then!

I think it's weird that people pick names before the baby is born. We don't do u/s so we don't know the sex so we've never had a definitive name before the birth. And w/DS2, the boy name we had picked out was wrong once we met him & it took us most of a week to figure it out.

I think you have a perfect right to change the name!

if it's not right, CHANGE IT! you're allowed to change your mind as much as necessary - once you sign that paperwork it becomes a whole lot more difficult, so do it now!

With my ds we were always set on his name before birth and when he came I still felt like it was perfect. But I think this one is proving to be a bit different.

Really?! Too funny, well that's awesome she learned the new name quickly. I worried about Nathan but after talking to him this morning I can tell he would be fine if we changed it

Yes it's probably better to make a list of a few names we like and then decide when she arrives, I think that a great idea!! Thanks.

Of course you can still change! We haven't decided yet, this is actually the first time we haven't picked a name before the birth, but we feel we just can't decide until we see the baby. You're saying baby's name for the rest of his/her life, so pick one you really love!

Oh yes I so agree and that what I told my dh last night this will be her name forever we better make sure it's one we absolutely adore. And luckily he agreed it wasn't really his fave name either so we are searching for a few really perfect ones to take to the hospital!

I so agree! We know what we are having and do not have more then a list of possibilities nothing set in stone.

I think you have to know it is right, and you will once you see the LO.
