Anyone encapsulating their placenta?

Im not pregnant nor have I had any experience with having a placenta encapsulated but I wanted to ask the prego community how many would consider doing this. I am a doula thinking of offering these services. There are not many people in the area doing this and thought it would be a good idea but I want to make sure the demand is there. I guess Im not really specifically asking those in my local community just those in general to see roughly the volume of interest. Thanks ahead of time!

I'm going to do it, I think. My friend who is an aspiring doula said she'd do it for me.

There is a good website on it...http://placentabenefits.info/

yes thank you, I was actually looking at this site to get certified. I was just wondering if the demand was there. Thanks.

Considering it here. In my area there is only one person doing it...and it's a fairly large city.

I've been thinking about it but I don't know--if I had someone local to do it for me, I'd be more likely to do it for sure!

As of now, the plan is to give my dogs the treat of their life.

My husband is going to do mine.

I'd consider hiring someone if they did it in my home and if it wasn't too pricey. I don't want my stuff getting mixed up with someone elses no matter how unlikely that is.

Yes, I will mostly likely be doing this.

i am planning on it!

I am strongly considering it, my midwives said they do it for me. So there really isn't any reason why I shouldn't, I think I'm still getting over the mental block of it. I can't wait to check out that website.

I ate mine raw last time and the benefits were TREMENDOUS especially because I lost a lot of blood (I am a hemophiliac). This time I want to do some raw and then have some encapsulated. I'm looking into finding someone in my area that can do it because I know I won't be up to it and, well, DP can burn water... so I'm not going to ask him!

I was thinking about doing this ... but, then, I was wondering if it would be more beneficial to eat it raw. I was thinking of making a smoothie with mine, and having that right after birth.

I would/will do it, but I'll also add that a certification wouldn't mean anything to me. If someone told me they knew what they were doing, I would trust them to do it. It's not that complicated, as far as I know. I've got a recipe somewhere for it and I don't remember thinking it looked very complex.

The other mw attending my birth did this according to Chinese medicine principles.

I also liked that you can keep the capsules when you are finished (after the 2 weeks) and save them for the child--when they are undergoing transitions and give one to them--apparently they are supposed to be very helpful.

I will be encapsulating mine.

I did it last time and will probably do it again (though I didn't take any of the pills from last time so I'll have quite the collection ). I did mine myself, by hand (not with an encapsulator).

I can't stomach the idea of eating it raw, even in a smoothie, but I will do it (encapsulation). I'll try just about anything to ward off PPD that doesn't involve pharmaceuticals!

I will! No one in my town offers the service, so I'm probably going to buy that kit online and have my mom do it for me.

I will be...either hiring someone or my midwives said they may be doing it by my due date.

We are too!! I want a placenta smoothie right after birth, and then we are going to prepare the placenta ourselves. We have a food dehydrator, so I thought I'd give the it a try.
