quick question about BG rise/snaps

When do you go larger than the newborn (fully snapped) size? Should the rise come to the belly button, or just below? Just wondering b/c we've been having some leaks lately and I was thinking maybe the dipe was too small.

Ours comes below, and we haven't had leaks. You may want to try a different setting though and see how it works. You can also always add an extra insert, like the newborn insert or hemp.

It's really a matter of preference and baby's shape. I would try both ways and see which you like better.

I, too, was wondering about the absorbancy, though. Baby is probably peeing more now! How many inserts are you using? You may need more than one.

hmm...well, I am using just the newborn insert (the smaller one, without the snaps.) Maybe at night I'll use the bigger one. Or maybe my LO is just peeing buckets.

Thanks

We had this same issue when ds was younger. We figured out that if he was leaking it meant his diaper needed to be adjusted. In the begining also we were using Tide Free detergent and we were leaking. We started adding 1/2 cup of vinegar in our second cycle and have never had leaks again. I would try making it longer and if they are still leaking I would try the vinegar it works wonders. Good luck!

If your having leaks, I'd first up it to the regular snap-down insert... that extra bit adds some bulkyness but it also definetly adds lots more absorbancy. Or even put them both in at night if you don't typically change during the night and thats when your having leaks.
