My mum came to visit us after cancelling on me yesterday (when it was sunny-ish and nice-ish....) We had coffee in the garden in the sun then the heavens opened.

We managed to get to the leisure centre without getting too wet and swam for about 3/4 hour before setting off back home and getting caught in a downpour! We should have walked home in our swimmers!!

Later, we popped to Waitrose and got wet between leaving there and getting in the car.....

We had a massive lasagne for dinner with our own lettuce on the side followed by an apple crumble with foraged blackberries and mirabelles (a sweet yellow fruit like a damson)

The girls have talked NON STOP today with Nanny here to listen to them. She went home quite dazed after the stereophonic high pitched onslaught. I am still buzzing form all the caffeine we have had today in the form of real coffee and 4 cups of tea. My mum is a big drinker of hot beverages but when I asked her what she wanted after dinner she did fancy a large brandy I'm not sure if she meant for herself or to quieten the crazy people.

Please let it be dry tomorrow so that they can be out in the garden all day and talk to themselves.

Ha ha ha! I carried raincoats around Oxford all day and what we really needed were sun hats. Can the weather get any more unpredictable?

we're terrible when it's raining.
Unfortunately the telly goes on a bit more than i'm happy with.
But maybe moreso at the moment because i'm so tired and pregnant!

The telly isn't evil. Sleep deprivation and exhaustion are though so don't feel bad about the tv especially when you are pregnant and need to rest. My dds learn all sorts from watching it including the words to all sorts of theme tunes..... Big cook little cook or Hotel Trouble anyone? Draw us a picture, Louie!

Big Barn Farm : And worse, Trapped and Raven.

We love Trapped over here!
The Swindon town museum kept mine quiet for a wet half day last week. We've been to the library quite a bit, too. When we finally got a nice day we discovered Wallingford's open air pool. (under ÂŁ10 for me and two kids, All day parking for ÂŁ2.30, fine with byo picnic, and if you've got really little ones who are happy with a paddling pool it's free. I highly recommend it

Wallingford is nice! We go there every now and again as its not far from us. The Waitrose there has those crazy Dyson Hand driers that make your skin ripple.
