Where to buy: washer style magnets?

Anyone know of any store (online or IRL) that stocks these magnets? I can only find disc or stick magnets in the craft/home improvement stores. The only washer style magnets I can find online are for wholesales and/or people wanting to by a whole case of them.

I need them for my son's birthday present -- a fishing pole set complete with fleece/felt fish. I tried disc magnets, but they are just not working out -- poor guy loves his fishing set...but I've put it away until I can get these magnets.

TIA!!

We made a fishing game for our daughter's birthday party. We bought the disc magnets and my husband drilled holes in the middle so we could tie the string through it. Hope that helps!

Thanks! That hadn't occurred to me...

I wonder if DH could do that without an expensive trip to the emergency room?

I'll have to ask.

I made fishing set too! I put the magnet inside a felt pouch (I was going to make a felt "hook" but didn't) that way the magnet could attach to the pole and I was less freaked out about swallowing.

I am totally freaked out by the idea of swalllowing magnets (its my big irrantional safety fear) so I wanted to make sure the magnet was inside of another thing (the felt pouch) making it harder to eat. It works pretty well, its a little difficult because then the magnet isn't as strong (because of the felt) but we felt (hmm is that the right word for past tense of feeling????) that the increased difficulty was actually more fun

Yeah, I knitted little pouches for each magnet originally...but it didn't work well. If the gauge was tight (in order to keep the discs in) then it didn't allow the magnets to work. A loose gauge wouldn't be safe, IMO.

And, yeah, swallowed magnets are a worry of mine too. There was a child who died after a couple of the magneto-style magnets clicked together in his intestines and prevented anything from moving through. Extremely rare and odd, but enough to make one extra cautious.

Gonna ask dh about drilling holes in them when he's home tonight.
