Hey all!

A poster over on simpleliving.net sent me this way. I'm 15 weeks 5 days, due Jan. 23 with our first. I'm a recent career dropout pursuing simplicity, homesteading, and everything else I wasn't doing in an office. I am in Charlotte, North Carolina and am especially interested in gardening, so I expect to be in the pregnant threads and green thumb threads. I'm looking forward to poking around here!

Emily

Hey all, thanks so much for the warm welcomes! And appreciate the nice blog feedback, too. I post pretty much every day Monday-Friday and have been having fun with it (I'm new to blogging, new to canning, new to marriage and babies, you name it). Sounds like I need to join the Jan. due date club. Are there region specific (ie, North Carolina, or southeast, etc) groups as well? Em

Yes, in Finding your tribe, there is a group for NC, SC, and TN

Ha-hey! PM me if you like! I am also a recent graduate from the corporate world, as I like to call it () and now work freelance doing graphic design and writing: both things I just LOVE! I too am knocked up - 18 weeks on Monday here, due Jan 11th!

Hurrah for escaping corporate life! Never had a single moment's regret!

I'm new too

Hello, sounds like you're on the way to enjoying life!

I'm currently hoping my DH will see how expensive my working has been, because I want to be a stay-home grandma. Have an almost 2yo grandson already, and he's in my home since DD moved back in, and she has another due in a couple months.

I think I can be useful at home, with chores and toddler-chasing

Hi Emily, and welcome!!

I think we'll be running in different circles here on MDC, but I have bookmarked your blog and will be reading it often. I laughed out loud at several posts and look forward to more of your informative, insightful offerings... yeah, can't wait to read more, either.

Congratulations on the lifestyle change, the marriage and the pregnancy, and thanks for the blog. (I now have a new mission: boiling limes to kill the ants in my front yard. Advance thanks for that...)

You gals are awesome -- great to get so many welcomes. JayJay, I will PM you to hear more about our apparently parallel lives. Kismet_fw, being a stay at home granny sounds awesome. Katie T, I'd love to hear about your own canning adventures. And Seeking Serenity, good luck with the ants. That lime recipe comes from a friend who grew up on a ranch in Texas, and they don't mess around.
