I have food poisoning - is she getting enough now?

I am on day four of wicked wicked wicked food poisoning. Nothing is helping me. I am exclusively nursing my 2 month old. I am taking a probiotic, trying to drink water and eat when I can. (also taking Immodium and it doesn't help at all). Today, I've had a pear and a few bites of pasta before I felt like I was going to hurl and, you know...tmi. My baby hasn't had a poop in 48 hours, just some staining. She's having normal wet diapers though. What should I do? I'm so afraid of losing my milk. I don't want to supplement her, (and really, she won't take a bottle of expressed milk AT ALL, anyway, so I don't even think that's an option, and I don't have a stash at all). She doesn't act like she's hungry, but has been fussing at the breast more the last two days. I am so sick, and now freaking out that she's not getting enough food. If she's having wet diapers, is she, in theory getting enough? Wahhh!!!

If she's having enough wet diapers you know that she's getting enough fluids. You're milk will come back and she'll get more nutrition (and her poops will build up again) soon Keep nursing, Mama!

It's really important to drink when you've got gastro - any way you could get some sports drinks rather than just having water? The water gets into the body better when it is accompanied by sugar and a little salt. The 'home made gatorade' I was taught in India is a litre of water, a pinch of salt (no saltier than tears),a handful of sugar, and a squeeze of orange.

^thank you for that recipe. I have been putting a splash of lemonade in the water for some calories, and I bought some oranges yesterday...(well, husband did) I didn't think about adding salt, but that makes perfect sense! I'm trying to force the water, but man, its hard... ugh. thanks for the support!

It's really hard to keep drinking the fluids Remember that popsicles count!

I know how hard getting fluids is when you're sick. But remember, right now ANY fluids count! Just focus on getting enough rest and staying hydrated. Wet dipes mean that she's hydrated too, which is the best sign.
