Is this baby sticky? Or making a slow exit?

I have no idea if I'm miscarrying....If anyone could give me their opinions would be great....

I believe I ovulated July 13th
Implantation July 20th
First BFP July 21st

July 28th HCG 553 Prog 15.? (forgot....)
Aug 5th HCG 921 Prog 14.1

On Aug 5th, was dtd, partner pulls out....lots of brown blood. Since then I've been spotting brown, with (sorry for the tmi...) stringy tissue occasionally. I've been crampy.

U/S today - measuring less than 4 weeks. The nurse (OB at a delivery) said we would repeat the hormones next week...then we could figure out whats going on from there...

I'm impatient though. Does it seem like this little one is going to stick around? Or is it making a slow exit?

Thanks for any opinions/advice.

I'm so sorry. I have never kept up with all that so I have no idea...

Answering as a woman who has experience with this (and not as a midwife), I would guess given the info you have here, that you are in the process of miscarrying . I would call tomorrow, though, and request progesterone supplementation (prometrium vaginally is what I use) because from what I understand that number should always be above 20 when you're pregnant. I'd also ask for a repeat beta sooner than NEXT WEEK! OMGoodness!

to you, Mama. Limboland is never a good place to be...it's so frustrating not to have any answers!

I'm so sorry for what you are going through Brown blood is better than bright red usually but it does sound like you may be miscarrying. Your beta numbers should be doubling every 48-72 hours. I second Charmie's advice to get on progesterone suppository and get a repeat beta sooner. Its not over til its over though - I hope everything works out for you!

Thanks, I'll call in the am and ask. I really have no idea here...I've been fortunate to not have fertility issues or ever have a miscarriage before.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate the advice/opinions even if they aren't the most hopeful. I'd rather be informed.

Update...Sticky Baby?

July 28th HCG 553 Prog 15.? (forgot....)
Aug 5th HCG 921 Prog 14.1

I stopped by my OB's office today...it's around the corner.

Turns out the above info is wrong...the nurse realized she gave me the wrong numbers.

July 28th HCG 553 Prog 15.1
Aug 5th HCG 9129 Prog 14.4

I have another u/s scheduled for next week (ugh, I think about 5 weeks...this will be u/s #3). I asked about progesterone supplements, the nurse said as long as the number is above 10 it's ok, but she would double check. We are going to wait till tues for a repeat HCG since my numbers are so high.

Does this new info change anyones opinions?

Um, I thought having progesterone that high makes you pretty much out of the woods. How far along are you? (wait, are you the one in binghamton?)

I can't believe she gave you the wrong numbers. Non-pregnant people don't realize the amount of worry they can cause by and innocent mistake.

I looked at beta base and your hcg on 8/5 was high for you only being 4 weeks. With a hcg of 9129 I'd think that you could see the little bean on the ultrasound, but I could be wrong. Also it's possible that your uterus is tipped a certain way that makes it difficult to get accurate measurements on ultrasound during early pregnancy.

I know it's hard to wait. I said a prayer for you.

That does change my opinion...that HCG is much more promising, but I agree that with a number that high you can generally see something on u/s, though there are other factors.

The standard of care around here it to supplement progesterone under 20 moderately and to supplement aggressively if its under 10. The drop in progesterone would also concern me.

I hope everything is okay and you see a little baby bean heartbeat next week!!

It's was a mistake - she realized it this am and knows how I obsess over my #'s (BP, liver enzymes, protein counts, etc...). I was surprised she realized the mistake to be honest, since most people wouldn't have thought twice. She double checked this am, since I kept saying "well this just doesn't make sense to me". During my last pregnancy, I had an average of 3 office visits a week (plus two trips to the lab) towards the end - so I got pretty close with the staff.

And darn, I DO have a tilted uterus! That may be the reason for the inaccurate measurements.

Thanks Charmie. They are seeing a sac on the u/s and well, a blob (thats what it looks like to me) in the sac, but they can't calculate the measurements, and the u/s tech thought I was under 4 weeks.

Thanks for the positive thoughts. Honestly, I'm not thrilled to be pregnant in the first place - pregnancy is a full time job for me, but generally I can get through the first 20 or so weeks without being poked and prodded incessantly.

I am sure everything will work out for the best. My partner is quite upset that this pregnancy seems iffy.

LOL Thats true, we can compare maternity clothing shopping choices, now that Old Navy no longer carries maternity. I have a 2 year old son also - he was due 7/07, showed up in June though. I used to use the aol.com boards, and met quite a few moms that lived in upstate ny. BTW - it is gorgeous out today - why aren't you outside???????

it is gorgeous. I'm lazy : (and cold)

I was so angry when i found out our Old Navy wasn't going to be carrying maternity clothes. I'm not a fan of the pants/shorts/skirts at Motherhood, and always got better deals at ON. Buying stuff from ON online, though, is a pain because the sizes vary so widely, ime.

Oliver was born on 7/18/07
