I recently purchased an Ergo (an older model - off of Craigslist). My LO is 4 months old. He's got good head control, so I'm comfortable using the Ergo in that respect. However, when I put him in it it seems that he has to spread his legs farther than he normally does when I'm holding him. He doesn't complain...he took a little nap in the Ergo today while I was practicing with it around the house. But how can I be sure that it's not forcing his legs farther apart than is good for him given his age/size? What age did you all start using the Ergo? Is it safe to assume that if the baby isn't complaining he's OK, or is it possible that it's not good for his hips w/o making him uncomfortable at the moment? I know the position of the baby's hips/legs in the Ergo is good for their hip development, I'm just not sure if he's too small for it right now or not.

If you're concerned you could try to froggy one leg and leave the other out.
