Seeking Atlanta Homebirth Midwives

Thread Starter
I am planning a home birth in Atlanta area (just outside the perimeter). I would like to find the names of some midwives who are practicing in the area so that I can find the right fit. Please respond or PM me to give me names of those you know!
Thanks,
Lisa

Which end of the perimeter? I'm in the Cobb/Cherokee County area and I have wonderful midwife. She delivers all over, though. Let me know and I'll PM you with her info. She's been amazing.

NE, but open to anyone

I live just NE of Atlanta, near Decatur. But I would be open to considering anyone. It doesn't seem like there are that many midwives in Atlanta area, at least not that I know of.

Hi Lisa,

We recently had a wonderful delivery with Charlotte Sanchez. http://www.newlifemidwiferycare.com/ She and her assistant Mandy were terrific and very professional!

I can't recommend her enough! Give her a ring and she if she's a good fit for you!

Have a great day!

I second the Charlotte the recommendation. I haven't given birth yet -- my EDD is tomorrow -- but she is very professional and a wonderful care provider.

I would love to hear more about your experience with Charlotte.
Thanks!

This midwife is leaving our area and headed your way:

I haven't birthed with her myself, btu known some women who have and rave about her.

Turtlewomyn,
Thanks! We interviewed a midwife this morning that my husband loved so we probably won't look any further.

Thanks Tracy,
Claudia and Tanya are the ones we met Monday and we loved them. My husband really felt comfortable with Claudia and doesn't even want to interview anyone else.

We're lucky to have several choices of good midwives in the Atlanta area! I've had two births with Claudia and am planning a third in a few months. I also attended a friend's birth with her that involved a pretty serious hemhorrhage. I can't speak highly enough of her skill and care.

Thanks Molly! I've been feeling unsure about it lately......

I'm sorry you're feeling unsure. Is your uncertainty related to selecting a midwife or something else? Feel free to PM me if you'd like. I'd be happy to try to allay your concerns with more details.

Have to put in a recommendation for my midwife too: www.birthingway.com. Love love love Beth. Had a perfect birth with her in February 2008...will be TTC soon so looking forward to another one hopefully next year!

I have removed a couple of posts from this thread.  Per our rules, negative care provider reviews are hosted in the reviews section only, due to liability reasons.  If you wish to post a review there, please make sure it is more than just venting, but is an actual review.  You can find the link to the reviews section in the purple nav bar at the top of each page.

Thanks, and let me know if there are further questions.

Hello,

I saw your post (from 2009) about a midwife you had in the Cobb county area. We just found out we are pregnant and I am searching for a midwife. Would you mind passing along the contact information for your midwife?

Thank you
