Thirsties Colors

I'm planning on ordering a bunch of Thirsties and was wondering about the colors. I know monitors vary and whatnot, but well....some of the colors look fine on some sites and on others, they look scary!

If you've gotten any Thirsties covers in real life, can you tell me about the colors? More specifically, were any scary? Mostly the melon looks terribly bright on some sites. The raspberry looks rather neon as well. The other colors at least look nice on every site-but of course, if you got one that turned out to be absolutely horrid or a different color from what you thought, please let me know. I cant afford to get ones that I wont ever use! lol

Okay I went with two which apeared fairly unisex and they were labelled 'candy pink' and 'ocean' and I got a 'butter' as well. The candy pink looked like a reddy watermelon colour a boy could get away with, it wasnt. Its a really ugly colour, and I love pinks. Its almost like they wanted to go hot pink but then added some brown so its a murky hot pink. :P The ocean is not great either- its not aqua, its not blue, its just ugly. The butter (usually my least fav colour after oranges) is actually really nice and soft. And then I ordered some smalls in a celery and the lighter pink and both are also gorgeous, and those two looks really ugly on the photos....so there you go :P I hope that helps a little hehe

we have 5 .
celery- meh not so much in love with , kinda looks washed out and boring
melon- is like a flourescent orange road cone or a hunting jacket , i love it
ocean - is like a cross between aqua and blue, i like it alot
aqua- gorgeous probly one of my faves
sky blue (the really bright dark blue) - love it love it love it .
i have to go back to the diaper shop i got the melon at , the leg binding is tearing away from the pul it's been 2 weeks. blah

I love vibrant color and lots of variety, so with that in mind... I loved the candy pink To me, it's somewhere between a bright salmon and watermelon and I think it's beautiful. I also have covers in aqua, lavender, and raspberry, and a Thirsties AI2 in melon. The aqua is a nice, soft (but not pastel) turquoise, the lavender is almost more pastel, but closer to a light purple. The raspberry is a nice bright pink, not fluorescent, kind of a hot true pink. I love the melon and to me it's a lovely shade of golden orange, but know that my fave color is orange, so...

I also have some pocket dipes that seem to use the same PUL as Thirsties and the celery is a nice light soft green, butter is like pastel yellow (or like a cube of fresh butter, same thing). I guess if you prefer softer colors, stick with the really light looking ones, like butter, celery, lavender, etc.

Don't know if this is really very helpful at all- it's so hard to describe color! And often everyone sees them differently- beauty in the eye of the beholder and all... hth anyway!

The orange one is much brighter than it looks online - it's like a safety vest or traffic cone (as PP said).

The yellow isn't as buttery as it looks online - it's more lemon yellow (brighter than it looks online).

I agree that the melon is BRIGHT, I also have the periwinkle, aqua (my favorite!), ocean blue (another favorite). I really want a red one next, my friend has one and it's so pretty - very scarlett bright but not neon red. I've seen most of them in person since a store near me carries them and they are all a little different than they look online. I avoid the really pale colors like celery, baby blue, and butter since they look dingy quickly. The candy pink and rasberry are both cute but they are bright!

Hmmm...maybe I can find them locally.

The melon color description helps a LOT, thanks! Some pics had it look very neon (like it apparently is) and others much more subdued. I liked the subdued melon, but the neon I dont think I'd be a fan of, so that helps a lot!

Hopefully I'll find them locally and can see them before buying. If not, I'll just hope for the best! (and not order melon )

Yea, try to find them locally. The melon is actually really cute in the fab fitteds - much less neon. I was excited about the orange color in the thirsties duo but I saw one in person yesterday and it was just about as neon as the melon but maybe not quite as neon. Still too bright for me!

Thirsties diaper covers were my fave!!! Sooo many cute colors! But, the melon was way more blaze orange (think hunting vest... than melon (soft, warm orange).

Yay, I found someplace local...ish. I'll have to wait until I'm ready to buy since its rather far for us to drive, but at least I'll get to see them in person

And yeah, I wish the melon was softer like in some pics I've seen. Neon orange isnt my thing, but I'd love it if it were more...real melon.

Raspberry should be the one called Candy Pink because it reminds me of bubble gum. I loved it.

That sounds pretty! And it'd go with my carseat!

Raspberry is my favorite - it's a nice bright pink, not neon.

I also have Lavender which is just lavender and periwinkle is lavender with some blue added in. I like them all

We have melon, aqua, lavander, and raspberry. I was a little surprised when we got the melon-it's very bright. I don't really like it, it's a little too bright for my taste. I might like it better for a boy (I have girls). I like the others very much though.
