DS stays with a nanny 5 hours a day for 3 days a week while I work. During those times he has bottles of pumped milk. The amount he's been drinking has been steadily decreasing to the point that on Wednesday he only took 2ounces during the entire time. When I'm with him, I offer to nurse as often as I think he wants it. Typically he isn't interested at all or sucks until let down and then doesn't want it anymore. He does well nursing to sleep for naps (which are irregular) and at night. He's also been night-waking 1-4 times a night lately and I nurse him back to sleep.
Last week he gave up the pacifier and now I'm wondering if whatever caused that change is causing him to not like bottle nipples too. He'll happily try drinking milk from a sippy cup though.
He'll be 9months on Saturday and I do think he's going through a developmental spurt. Has anyone else had a baby who suddenly refused bottles? Is it okay to just give him a sippy of milk instead? Are the storage/feeding guidelines for sippys the same as for bottles (can only use for one feeding, can only sit out for ~6 hours, etc)?
