Baking soda and/or vinegar in wash bad for PUL?

I've not heard this before, but was informed that using baking soda or vinegar in the wash was not recommended for PUL fabrics. Anyone else heard this? Or had problems with PUL after using bs or distilled white vinegar?

I'm questioning whether it's true because I use both bs and/or vinegar at least on occasion in my dipe wash and I throw everything in- covers, diaper pail liners, wet bags, pockets dipes. But I'm only having a problem with my two wet bags, not anything else. Everything else seems to be holding up great. But who knows, maybe I just haven't exposed the rest enough yet and it's just a matter of time.

Anyone know about this? TIA

I've heard that vinegar is bad for PUL, I hadn't heard about the baking soda. We use vinegar once a month or so to help strip the dipes and haven't had any problems. If you use it, I would just not do it often.

Thanks GM. Anyone else?

I was so surprised to hear this because I thought I'd done so much research and had a good handle on what is/isn't good for dipes. But now a diaper store/manufacturer tells me no additives are recommended for diaper washing. Any additives are what cause buildup apparently. Only detergent. No baking soda, no vinegar, no oxygen bleach. It's so crazy because you hear so many conflicting things about dipe washing and care.

I've heard baking soda recommended for freshing and for stain removal (is a type of oxygen bleach and acts as a water softener) and actual oxygen bleach products as a safe way to remove stains. Vinegar is good for removing odors and acts as a rinsing agent on detergent so fabrics are softer. Now I'm rethinking my wash routine. I thought I was doing so well and I've never had stinkies or any other problem! (I was going to post on the other thread about not having stinkies too, but now I don't want to tell anybody to use baking soda or vinegar if it wrecks PUL products).

Anyone out hear this before? Especially wahms, you guys know anything about this?

I read not to use baking soda if you have soft water, and no vinegar if you have hard water.
I can look for the site if you want
