I REALLY want to wear my baby...

I have a Maya Wrap. I HATE IT. It never adjusts right. I have watched the DVD a million times and no luck. I find it way easier with a little older of a babe. I want something I can wear my newborn in and possibly learn to nurse in.

Any suggestions?

Hang in there!

I tried a Maya Wrap in the early days with my second child, and as I recall it just felt like miles and miles of unyielding fabric, and it went nowhere. That was when someone lent me a Moby, which although is not the best carrier long term, is kind of magical for a newborn. Also, an Asian carrier like a babyhawk is in my experience a better bet for a newborn than a Maya Wrap. It's just more manageable, you don't lose the baby entirely within the fabric.

That having been said what you have is a great carrier for the next stage, when your little one bulks up a little... is there a babywearing group in your area at all where you might find one to 'borrow' for a short time to get into the babywearing groove?

How about a stretchy wrap? Two shoulder support and easy to nurse in.

I'm so sorry you haven't found the maya wrap love. Can you find someone to help you out with it? I took mine to a local babywearing meeting when my DS was 3 weeks old and I never would have figured it out without their help. We use it everyday now and just today I met up with a local mom and helped her figure it out - gotta pass on the babywearing love!

moby worked better for my newborn,( wombfruit gauze wrap for extreme heat) at 3mo, we like the maya or Kozy MT best. MT was/is easiest to nurse in for us.
