AnnMArie the spoiler tags mostly make sense on the Books/Movies/ Media Board. We begged Cynthia to put them in place when teh last Harry Potter book came out. They are handy for discussing movies and books when you don't want to spoil the ending. Other than that it is mostly silliness, I guess. Maybe some riddle games in TAO could use them...

I agree that the chunky sig lines are horrendus, but those who are offended by avatars can just turn them off in the user cp.
I belong to other forums and do not believe that I have ever judges anyone by their avatar, if you have a tendecy to judge a book by its cover, then perhaps you should turn the av's off.

You have "A swan princess" wirtten under your user name. How would that be any different that a picture of a swan princess under your user name?

Well Andrea, as I said before a picture is commonly held to have more impact than a written phrase. Also, the swan princess thing is a little game we call DDDDC. Basically someone else donated money to have that put there. I didn't select it. I did select Loquatious Lactator though as my senior title. But again... A couple of words hasn't got nearly the impact a picture of me (or anyone) talking and nursing would.

i feel the same way, kama..

it's like watching the music video for a song you love. even if the video is great, it sort of ruins the song. of course others' experiences may not be the same. but in my case this is what happens. thereafter i can only think of the video, and the music loses much of its depth or something. like i can't shake the images from my head. is that sort of what you mean?
