The Happy Thread

Thread Starter
I thought since we are all so tired and sore and uncomfortable, we should have a thread where we can post what we are happy and grateful for. I will go first.

I have a husband that loves me and works hard
I have a nice house
I live in a great city
I am relatively young (though I am turning 30 next month!)
I am healthy
I am able to conceive and carry a baby with no major issues
My body knows how to birth a baby so I know I can do it at home
I have great food to eat and juices to drink
I have a big bathtub that I can soak in whenever I want (and labor and birth in!)
I LOVE being a photographer
I have a business that I started from scratch that now helps moms all over the world attach better to their babes and someone else runs most of it for me
Even though my girlfriends are busy and don't really get what it means to have a baby, they still love me.
I have great parents who will always be there for me, no matter what
I have everything my baby needs to be healthy and warm
I have three air conditioners
My dh makes me a big fruit protein smoothie every morning
I am having a baby!!!!!! I get to hold a baby here VERY soon. And she will be mine to love and care for.

Ooh, I need to make a list like this everyday, it takes away a lot of the stress. Off to go soak in the tub for a bit now....life is good (she says after crying all night long over how awful everything seems).

I have a faith that gives me great solace, comfort, and strength, and a God who loves me unconditionally.
I have a husband who loves me and the child I'm carrying more than I've ever seen anyone love anything.
I currently live in a place that I've dreamed of experiencing for years.
My work will allow me to stay home with my child for as long as I choose to do it, without having to give up the income, social networking, or sense of purpose.
I am surrounded by amazing friends who are truly changing the world in spectacular ways, and living each day to its truest extent.
I have a beautiful apartment just waiting to be made into our home, and plenty of time to do so.
I have an incredible child all to myself for a few more days or weeks, and being aware of the uniqueness of this time together allows me to cherish every moment.
In addition to ensuring that my child has everything she needs (diapers, car seat, breasts), I've been able to also buy or make several things she doesn't need.

We have no more mice!!

Thank you for this thread and for sharing!

I am grateful for so many things:

My amazing husband, who I fall more in love with each and every day, who washes all the dishes and gives my aching feet a massage every night.

My strong, beautiful, and flexible body that has been working so hard to grow our healthy baby over the past 9 months (and is still feeling amazingly well too!)

Being a chiropractor, which is wonderful in so many ways. It is not just a career for me, but a philosophy of life, health and living that feels so good to fully embrace and share with others.

Being in business with my husband, so that we can be flexible with maternity leave, and I can slowly start returning to work when I'm ready. Also my husband being such a fabulous chiropractor that I feel really good about him taking care of all of my regular practice members over the next few months.

The complete faith and trust I have in my body and my baby to naturally start and continue the birth process when we're completely ready!

The opportunity to live in and take care of my Grandmother's beautiful lake-front house, without paying rent, over the last 6 months. She taught yoga and meditation classes there for about 30 years and it's so full of great energy! What a wonderful place to birth and care for our first baby for a few more months.

The peanut butter and jelly sandwich I'm about to eat along with fresh, organic cherries from our local farmer's market.

Today's weather! The high today is predicted to only be 67 degrees...what a relief after 103 last week!

Friends and family who love and support me and are so excited to meet our baby and share this wonderful blessing with us.

Being pregnant still!! I am so grateful that my body is continuing to grow and nurture this babe for as long as he or she needs!

$42 that my husband just found in his back pocket...and getting to go eat lunch without using a credit card.

This thread and post from SpringSun that gave me the opportunity to spend some much needed time today thinking about all these things in my life that I'm so grateful for!

There's so many, I could go on and on, but baby is telling me it's time for mid morning snack :

Great Idea!
  • My partner is the most supportive, cuddly, helpful, loving and sturdy person I never even hoped for.
  • Even though I am having a lot of sleep problems, my health remains good and I have been able to get information and alt treatments to try to help instead of just having to deal with it all alone.
  • In just a few days I will be totally on "maternity leave," but even now my schedule is very mellow!
  • I have been loving being at home with the dog and cat. I feel like even they are taking care of me.
  • We have air conditioning!
  • My husband seems like he will be a very hands-on, equal partner kind of dad.
  • I have lined up support in case my fears about motherhood get unmanageable after the baby is born.
  • Yesterday I got to hang out with other attachment parents and kids--very comforting and inspiring.
  • I have wonderful midwives and an amazing doula.

I'll come back later with more, but for now:

-baby hats! They're so cute and tiny, and they give me something fun do, and they crochet up so fast, I can watch a movie and make a whole one, start to finish! I've made four this week.
