Anybody else's baby get a blue belly button?

The hospital colours the belly button with a blue water/dye solution to mimic the drying liquid they used to put on. Isn't that weird? Anyone else get it?

The triple dye stuff- Yes our hospital uses it.

We used it on DD2 and used it on the new little one. It really helped to dry things out and make it easy to care for and makes it quick to fall off after wards. I also like that it allows the cord to be cut very short after it dries out, it makes diapering a bit easier and less messy.

It is funny to see a bright blue umbilical cord though

YUP! Triple dye. She did get that.

My LO belly stump is stinky and oozey. YUCK

Can't wait for it to fall off.

From my understanding, the dye doesn't dry anything out so it will take up to a month for the stump to fall off. A month! I can't wait for that little blue bump to wither away!!!

DD2 it fell off at 6 days.

This little one is 7 days and it is only attached at a little bit of one side.

It seems to have helped dry it out for us...
